One of my favorite things in the world is to be painting while listening to music on a rainy day. The title of this painting is from lyrics in Julian Casablancas' "Tourist":
'I wish I could sound as soothing as the rainfall / But I am only a drop from the storm'.
I often feel the same way about painting. It's such a subtle art form. It would be amazing to create a painting that impacts someone emotionally the way music impacts me. Life goals. :)
This piece features a scene from glorious rain-city Portland, Oregon. I enjoyed the technical challenge and actually got to paint this while it was raining in my normally dry home state of California. The song puts me in a contemplative, philosophical mood- as the rain often does.
This original acrylic painting on canvas measures 12 in. high x 16 in. wide. The canvas is 1.5 in. deep, and the edges are painted black. All of my original paintings are signed on the back.
