ORIGINAL PAINTING
This painting features a surprisingly empty bar in industrial Portland on a weeknight. I was in Portland on business, and had selected a boutique hotel with giant chalkboards on its doors- I figured this way when the urge to draw struck, no sketchbook would be needed, so I could travel lighter. That playful vibe seems to be very much of Portland’s personality, and apparently so is drinking. This scene is from the interior of a bar / pizza joint somewhere on E. Burnside St. The visual allure of the hot pink and honey gold reflections within the tar black bartop really caught my eye. But was also the culmination of a great night when I went on a solo adventure, made a new friend, and- of course- tried some tasty eat and drink in PDX.
This original acrylic painting on canvas measures 20 in. high x 16 in. wide. The canvas is 1.5 in. deep, and the edges are painted black. All of my original paintings are signed on the back.
